What this means:
In our opinion, identity governance has stopped being a quarterly compliance exercise. The identities an organisation has to govern now include workloads and AI agents that never appeared in an HR system, and the governance around them is expected to run continuously rather than in periodic campaigns. United Identity is built for that shape of problem: the key IGA processes are delivered configured rather than assembled, machine and service identities are supported, and governance extends to the disconnected legacy systems that most deployments never reach.
Intragen's United Identity has been listed as a Representative Full-Suite Vendor in the 2026 Gartner® Market Guide for Identity Governance and Administration, published on 28 August 2026. Intragen (Nomios) appears in the guide's representative vendor table with United Identity, our own Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) platform.
We believe a Market Guide is Gartner's description of a market: how that market is defined, which capabilities buyers should now expect as standard, and which vendors are representative of it. It carries no scores, no rankings, and no recommendation of individual vendors.
We further believe that being listed means United Identity meets Gartner's 2026 definition of a full-suite IGA platform. That distinction is worth drawing out, because the guide separates full-suite platforms from light IGA and augmentation tools, which Gartner covers in separate research. We would rather state that plainly than imply something the report does not say.
Rather than summarise the report, we will let it speak for itself. The passages below are quoted directly from the Market Guide.
“In 2026, IGA is evolving from legacy, quarterly cycles of manual access reviews to an autonomous, continuous, and outcome-driven process that encompasses both access certification and provisioning.”
On the changes made to the 2026 market definition:
- References to “Humans” have been replaced with “Workforce”
- References to “Machines” have been replaced with “Workloads”
- Basic separation of duty (SOD) capabilities moved from optional to mandatory
- Entitlement language has been updated
On market direction:
“Key areas of advancement include AI-driven identity governance, low-code orchestration for governance workflows, risk-aware and contextual certification, governance for workload identities, and emerging models such as decentralized identity and identity fabric.”
For most organisations the harder problem is not the ambition. It is the distance between that ambition and what is actually running in production.
Implementation complexity and time to value remain the real constraint, rather than the length of any feature list. A governance model that covers only people is now incomplete, because machine, service, and device identities hold access of their own and follow their own lifecycles. The applications sitting outside automated provisioning are where the visibility gap is widest, and they are rarely the applications anyone volunteers for an audit.
United Identity is Intragen's integrated IGA platform, used across the public and private sectors to manage identities and access rights in one place. It is built on a straightforward premise: an organisation should not have to build its own governance processes before it can start using them.
In practice, that means:
Privileged Access Management, identity threat detection and posture management are distinct from IGA. However, they form an effective part of the overall identity security architecture when integrated with IGA - something United Identity enables. Intragen delivers these complementary capabilities alongside United Identity through our partner technologies.
If you are reviewing IGA platforms, or modernising a governance model that has outgrown its access review cycle, there are two straightforward next steps. Explore United Identity to see how the platform is put together, or speak to our Identity and Access Management team about where your own governance model stands today. If you would rather start with the wider picture, our Identity Governance and Administration services page sets out how we approach this work.
